Combine styles under one fabric. If your MOQ per fabric/color combination is 100 pieces, and you design 3 different graphic tees using the exact same base blank and same fabric color, some manufacturers can combine those into a single fabric order even though the printed designs differ — reducing your effective per-style commitment.

Start with fewer colorways. Three colors at MOQ 100 each is a 300-unit commitment. One color at MOQ 100 is a much smaller first bet. You can always add colorways in your second order once you know what sells.

Ask about samples before assuming MOQ applies. If you just want to test fit and quality, you don't need to hit MOQ at all — a sample order sidesteps the minimum entirely, just at a higher per-unit cost.

Negotiate MOQ against a longer-term relationship, not a single order. Manufacturers are often more flexible on a first-order MOQ if you're transparent that you intend to reorder — it turns a one-off low-margin order into the start of a repeat account.
